In Massachusetts, can a homestead be put on a life estate?

Yes, the Massachusetts Homestead Law allows a life estate holder to place a homestead on their primary residence. The Massachusetts Homestead law grants automatic protection of $125,000 and a declared homestead affords $500,000 in protection.
