Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

mortgage co-signer

i have been stuck paying the mortgage and lot fees on a mobile home i co-signed for. i am presently out of work due to a back injury. i have had offers to buy the home but the owner i co-signed for wont sign because thayt want to make money on the sale but im paying the bills. i was told i could petition the court to get full ownership of property. my question is if i stop paying am i still legaly obligated to pay off loan. the person i co-signed for is on a fixed income but i have a large mortgage of my own to pay and im not getting my normal pay

Re: mortgage co-signer

If you co-signed the note and mortgage you are obligated to pay. You are entitled to the return of your payments or an equitale interest in the property when it is sold.

I would suggest you contact a lawyer ASAP and give him full details so he can assist you in resolving the matter sooner rather than later.
