Thank you for your question, and please accept my condolences.
You want a lawyer with experience in property disputes. If you are a joint owner of the property, you have significant rights.
Some of your rights/obligations may include:
1. The right to rents collected at the property;
2. The obligation to pay expenses of the property, if any;
3. The option to demand that your sisters purchase your interest in the home;
4. The option to buy one or both of your sisters' interest in the home;
5. The right to file a partition action and force the sale of the home.
Our office represents property owners in your situation throughout Massachusetts in negotiating private buyouts as well as commencing partition actions to force the sale of the home.
Best of luck, and do not hesitate to give our office a call if you want to discuss your options.
