Overnight Guests

Is there any policy or clause entitling the landlord to regulate overnight guests?

Re: Overnight Guests

I assume you either have a live-in lover or a very regular "s.o." (significant other) that makes this an issue, someone that's there half the time or more.

It depends on your lease. If you have one, you may fax it to me for inspection and legal interpretation if you like.

If there's no lease, the general rule is that he cannot regulate overnight guests. (Parking is a different story.) However, there are potentially large ramifications ... you should talk it over in detail with a lawyer of your own choosing either on the phone or in person because there's a series of questions s/he'll ask you.

If you have a section 8 lease, the rules are hard to find but generally there are a certain number of days per month you may have guests; it might be 3 or it might be 15. What year was your original lease?
