Does the entire property get sold, or just the one share?

Typically the entire property is sold since 1/2 of a common tenency has very little value except to family or spouse/partner. If one tenant was willing and/or able to buy out the other, there typically isn't a need for the petition to partition.

Unless the property is divisible into portions of equal value such as dividing a two family home between two owners, the property gets sold.
