Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Problems with neighbors interferring with Sale

I have a question in regards to my neighbors.

My wife and I just bought a new home less then 4 months ago. Since we moved in we have had one issue after another with our neighbors across the street. Due to all the on going problems my wife and I finally decided to put the house on the market. We had our first showing yesterday afternoon. Unknowing to our neighbors, we had decided to take our dog for a walk around the neighborhood while the realtor was showing the property. As we made our way down the street our neighbors had crossed over and were giving the realtor an ear full about how aweful we were, that they filed a complaint about our new fence being too close or even over the property line putting it a half foot onto town property, etc... The statements that they made were untrue and seem to have scared off these potential buyers. Is there anything I can do? We are moving because of them and it doesn't seem that they are going to make it easy on us. Even though you would think it was in their best interest.

Thanks,

Dave in Mass.

Hi -

You could always seek a restraining order to keep them away from you and off your property -
