How do i put a lean on someone property,to asure me payment on a bad check.And what is the average cost.

Unless you qualify for filing what is commonly referred to as a mechanic's lien under the appropriate statute, you have to file a lawsuit and obtain a judgement and then record the judgement against the property in question.

The type of lien (note the spelling) you need has to be issued by a judge. You have to file a law suit and get a judgment, then the court issues an "execution" which become a lien when it is recorded at the Registry of Deeds. I do not think you can do this in small claims court, unfortunately, so you should have a lawyer help you to do it right. Good luck!
