Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
Recently I purchased a Condo/Townhouse in a 55 community in Massachusetts. I assumed that 55 meant that there were no children. Now I am finding out that before I bought that there was an amendment and that you could have children. Seems one of the board members has a daughter going through a divorce. So now it looks like I will be living in a mixed community. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I really don't want the school bus driving down my street to pick up the kids for school. You would think there would be some zoning restrictions from the town or something to superceed this amendment that got slipped in.

There is not much you can do about it. It is unlikely the school bus will drive into the community. Most likely it will pick up children near the entrance to the community. If the Amendment was approved properly there is no way to change it except by getting the Amendment removed.
