Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
removing a spouse from house deed
My husband just left me for another woman. He said everything is mine. However, I would like to have his name legally removed from the deed to our house leaving only my name so the house can be passed onto our children if I die first. How do I do this?

Re: removing a spouse from house deed
I would suggest you contact an experienced attorney who handles divorce. This issue should be included in a seperation agreement. Your former husband may say everything is yours now, however, this may not be the case in the future. He also may be required to pay support as well. You should have competent legal representation during the process. You may also want to re-post this question under the Family Law, Divorce, Custody heading.
