Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Rental property/lease

I have a lease which ends 4/1/08, however my landlords have terminated due to the fact they have to do renovations to sell(they have been trying to sell since I moved in-2 yrs ago). They gave me 30 days notice to vacate, paying half for Aug, and using my last months rent for 8/15-9/15. I did pay the half, but I do not notice anything in my lease that states they can do this. Is there anything I can do?

Yes inform them that you do not agree to the termination and intend to hold them to your lease term.

You can negotiate a reasonable period to allow you to move if you want to find a new place and ask for some free rent in exchange for early termination.

Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
