Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
i got screwed by a broker
ok me and my boyfriend were in the market to rent an apartment we found one and viewed it ect. met with the broker and he told us a bunch of info but did not tell us the whole story, so my boyfriend gave him a deposit just to take the apartment off the market, at least thats what we thought, but turns out we didnt want the apartment anymore so now he is saying the papers my boyfriend signed states that if we do not take the apartment we forfit the deposit but he did not give us any info as to what my boyfriend was signing. Now i realize that my boyfriend made the clasic mistake of not reading what he was signing, but i on the other hand did not sign anything my question to you is, is there any loop hole to us getting our money back since i did not sign any papers and the broker knew i was also suposed to be living in the apartment?
