Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
Signatures for Refinance Closing
My mother, sister and I own jointly own a home in Massachusetts. We are refinancing and the mortgage company says that our spouses will need to sign some documents at closing. Is this true? None of them are on the title and have no claim to the property.

Re: Signatures for Refinance Closing
Spouses who are not on title may still have legal rights and interests in this transaction. Have the closing office take time to thoroughly explain these concearns to you.
Then seek further legal input if you are still uneasy about this request.
