Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

i had signed a purchase and sales agreement on a house on december 11th with the condition that the seller installs a new septic. the closing date was for february 3rd. the sellers are just now attempting to install the septic after almost 2 months and are asking for an extension until february 14th. i told them thats fine if they pay for movers to move my stuff because i have to be out of my current house by the 15th of february and i work on that day. the sellers absolutely refuse to pay for the cost of movers. do i have any legal rights to make them pay because they took so long to do the septic?

My guess is that you have not had legal representation in this transaction. You have the right to purchase the property on the date agreed-upon. If you have handled this transaction correctly, and the seller is unable to perform, then you should have the right to walk away from the deal. If you are suffering damages as a result of the seller's inability to perform, you need to make those damages clear to the sellers and insist that you are made whole and that you have the right to walk away. Obviously, you don't really want to do anything without having your paperwork reviewed by a lawyer.
