Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Snow removal

Is a landlord responsible for the removal of now from walkways, stairs and driveways, even though he is not a resident of the home or building? I live in an apartment house with 4 apartments. One of the residents is the landlords son, who from my understanding, is supposed to be responsible for the maintenance of the grounds. We recently had a snow storm. I had someone help me shovel out the snow around my cars so I could get them out. But neither the landlord has done anything to clear the rest of the snow from the driveway, either around their own cars or simply to clean up the rest of the driveway. If I should fall on the drive would the landlord be responsible for any injuries I might incur?? In the past I have always shoveled out my area where I park.
