Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
Can I sue a Town and Building Inspector/Zoning Board Secretary for neglecting (for almost 6 months) to tell me of a requirement to appear before the ZBA prior to pouring a new foundation? This delay costs me an additional $10K in rental expense while waiting to replace my fire-ravaged home.

You probably have a better cause of action against your general contractor or whoever illegally poured a foundation without getting a building permit.

Based on the limited facts presented, you do not have a case against the building inspector. Whoever was your general contractor may be responsible. It is a builder's responsibility to comply with local regulations.
