Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Tenant lease expires on August 31. Tenant received certified mail of non renewal of lease. Tenant has to vacate premises by August 31. Landlord needs property to reside in. What is landlord to do if tenant does not move.

Retain an attorney to be sure notice of non-renewal of lease was timely and in compliance with the lease and the law and to commence eviction action as appropriate. Good Luck!

Assuming the notice of non-renewal was timely, you need to file an action to evict them.

As the others have said, you will need to bring an eviction action to have your tenants removed from the property if they stay beyond the term of their lease.
