YOUR rights when MY apartment is sold? (Just kidding; never mind.)

In a word, you have the same rights you had before. The buyer of the building

generally inherits the obligations that the prior landlord had, including lease

obligations. If the lease allows you to renew at your option, you still can do

that.

(Of course, you WILL have to pay the rent to the new landlord, but you should get

formal notice of who that is and when you start paying the new landlord. The old landlord

is supposed to hand over any security deposit to the new landlord and in any case, the

new landlord is supposed to get it from the old one, so there's no change relative to you.
