I want to sell our home, my wife doesn't, but economics forces me to do this. Can I file a petition for partition, and thus sell the property

Assuming that you are still married, you should work it out with your wife. The costs of divorce are high on everyone.

A partition will have its own issues, so it would be wise to consider alternatives before trying to force your wife to sell.
