Re: Title to Home

In whose name do you want to put the title to your home?

If you remove your name, it will not relieve you of the obligation on a Mortgage you signed. If you are out of work and can't pay your mortgage, you have a couple of alternatives. First, is to contact the lender, assuming you have a mortgage, and ask them to work with you.

The secoond is to offer them a deed in lieu of foreclosure and some time to find a new place to live.

Simply removing your name from the deed will not solve any financial problems. Given your situation, I would contact a local legal services group or the MA Bar Association and meet with an attorney on their list for general advice.

Good Luck
