Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

unfinished construction/breached contract

I purchased a house 1yr ago. I had a contract with the developer to complete unfinished issues with the property. the work was to be completed by may 15 2007. This work still is not done and it will cost me over 10,000 to complete. what can i do! he does not return my phone calls anymore. He is trying to sell more lots in the developement. Can i put up signs questioning why my lot is not completed?

Re: unfinished construction/breached contract

Retain an attorney to get the contract you have with the developer enforced by filing suit if all else fails.

It is NOT a good idea to put up signs.

Re: unfinished construction/breached contract

My suggestion is you contact an attorney and have him write a MGL c 93A letter to the Builder for deceptive business practices; assuming the builder does not complete the repairs or start the repairs in a timely manner, you go ahead and fix/finish what has to be done and sue the Builder.

I would not put up signs as the Builder will sue you for slander.
