Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

wetlands

I have wetlands in the new house i am about to purchase in massachusetts. I was wondering if there is a legal way to fill or change them? I also would like to know if there is a way to find out what is classified as a wetland by the town and or state. The new place has 3 acres in winchendon, ma, but some of it is swamp area. I want to find any options for changing or moving the wetlands?

Thanks

Re: wetlands

You need to go before the Conservation Commission in your town. They may allow you to make some changes provided there is replication as defined under the Wetlands Protection Act.
