Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Massachusetts

Falsely accused!

I've been falsely accused of harassment. I can prove that I have done nothing wrong. This person has accused another before, which nothing seemed to come out of the case. Other than they were marked as a Harasser. Are there legal steps I can take to the accuser and/or the company for the false accusation.

There are, indeed, legal steps which can be

taken, but they are too complicated to explain here.

There are also many questions to be asked of you

before your question can be answered.

Re: Falsely accused!

A very broad question you pose. There are steps you can take, but a lot of it is going to depend on the evidence and the facts that gave rise to the charges. Employers have had to grow more cautious in recent years over false accusations of sexual harassment. That does not mean that every employer can be help liable if the charges are proven to be false.

The best recommendation I can give is to document everything. Copy your emails, take notes, and create a record. Since this area of the law is complex - an unwary lay person can trip up without an attorney. Find a good employment lawyer, and get some sound counsel.

Good luck.
