Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Massachusetts

Sexual Harrassment and disability

I was subjected to a hostile work environment by my supervisor and suffered a major anxiety attack and depression. The day after my anxiety attack I was advised to contact an attorney. It was explained that I was a victim of quid pro quo sexual harassment insisted that I file for STD and LTD. It is common knowledge that anyone who files a sexual harassment claim against my company is immediately fired. I retained an attorney wanting to immediately serve my company with a demand letter for the sexual harassment. 8 weeks later a demand letter has yet to be filed. My attorney insists that a demand letter should not be filed until it is clear that I am covered under the disability policy. Although the STD and LTD disability are rights that I have earned working with this company, my primary focus has been to deal with the harassment issues, find a new job and get on with my life. My attorney feels that the harassment and the disability are two separate issues and one should not happen without the other in place. I disagree. I feel that the harassment should have been addressed immediately and my company put on notice. Am I being ill advised or do I just have tunnel vision on top of my anxiety?

It is not appropropriate to evaluate another attorney's advice. I would only state that you have the right to change attorneys at any time. YOu are the boss.
