Legal Question in Social Security Law in Massachusetts
I am the legal administrator of my late Brother's ssdi. He recently passed away and, left a balance in the bank acct from ssdi. Does his wife have any legal right to the balance of his ssdi account. They were estranged but not divorced. I would like to donate the balance to an organization that helped him while he was alive.

I'm sorry to hear you have lost your brother.
Your job as the personal representative of your brother's estate is to follow his wishes as set out in his will, if he has one, or to distribute his estate according to the laws of intestacy in Massachusetts.
