Legal Question in Social Security Law in Massachusetts

modification

hi i have a questions about my modification for child support. i`ve been on disibility since 99 and in 2002 i got my child support lowered to 59 dollars a month when i went to court in lawrence massachusetts.for awhile everything was fine. then i started getting bills from dor child support enforcement in massachusetts. recently in june 2007 got my apartment and im on section 8 . i got my check from SSA and dor child support enforcement took 298 dollars out of my check. i contacted dor child support enforcement and i told them about my modification and they said that theres no record of it and there going by old child support order. so now i went down to social security and asked them to lookup my past garnishments all the back to 2002 and it should be 59 dollars a month.they said they have no records on it. i have some papers saying stuff about garnishments of 59 dollars and i know i went to lawrence mass to get a modification.so now i think when dor child support enforcement kept sending me thoses child support bills they were also adding on penilties and interest at the same time the 59 dollars was been taken out of my check . i know this seems cunfuseing but what can i do and what kind of help do i need ?

Re: modification

This sounds like it requires an action in court to force DOR to straighten out its records and properly credit you. There is a form available for the filing of such an action available through the Probate Court main website, I believe. I would be happy to consult further.
