Are there Federal Tax repayment plans?

Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

My Federal tax debt is much higher than anticipated due to severance pay and 401K withdrawal. Other than attempting to pay 90% along with a 4868 extension application, what other options do I have in regard to repayment. Any help, though your response will not be considered tax advice, would be much appreciated.

By the way, why wouldn't what you're told be consideredtax advice? Did you ask your accountant already?

What was the withdrawal used for? When exactly did you make it? How much did you withdraw? How short do you think that leaves your withholdings for the year? Were last year's withholdings just equal to last year's total tax bill ( -- or more? or less? If more, how much more?)

What city or town of Mass. do you live in?
