Do I have to pay for an admendment our CPA had to make on taxes he prepared in the past?

Most of the time, the answer to your question is yes. If the amendment is due to an error of the CPA and not because you forgot something or there is a need to fix something related to your information or some partnership or company you got a K-1 or 1099, then maybe your CPA should not charge you. But this is a matter between CPA and client and not a matter of law.
