Out of State Bank Account

I opened a checking account in

Maryland...I live in Massachusetts

but have never changed over to

Massachusetts...can MADOR levy my

Maryland bank account for a tax lien

without getting a court order of

permission from Maryland?

Generally speaking, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue must provide you with notice of the lien (Notice of Assessment &/or Demand for Payment) and amount(s) owed before levying upon property. The issue raised in your question is whether a Massachusetts authority must obtain permission from a sister state to execute upon a purportedly lawful tax assessment. The answer is fact specifc.
