Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

I foolishly ignored a 2007 parking ticket in the city of Somerville, Mass. Is it possible to appeal this parking ticket years after it was issued? I have never visited the city of Somerville (and since I am the sole operator of my vehicle my car hasn't either.) so there has to be some mistake. I am asking for a copy of the ticket - but am I wasting my time since I did not ask for an appeal within the 21 day appeal period?

If you can honestly say that you had no notice of the ticket until now, you should be able to contest the ticket. However, if you did know about the ticket, it is too late.
