I received a speeding ticket that I will contest in court. what happens if I can't the day given to show up due to vacation abroad? Will the officer win and fine go up? What is a posted radar?

If you dont show up --- you lose the appeal period. The fine remains the same as shown on the ticket. Posted radar means that the area where you were cited has a posted speed limit and the officer determined that you were over that speed by his/her radar unit-which measures a vehicles speed.
