Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

I am 16 years old and for several reasons want to move from my father / stepmothers house to a friends house. As I feel it is in my best interest mentally/emotionally and as a student. How can I do so with as little legal process?

I assume your father has physical custody. If your father will agree to this and your mother (assuming she is alive and still has custodial rights) then your father need only grant permission.

However, absent consent, your only alternative is to seek independence and if you succeed, your father will have no financial obligation to support you in the future. I strongly urge you not to seek independence except as a last resort.

If you feel you are being truly abused then you have some options inlcuding contacting social services.
