Burial Lot
The owner of the family burial lot died and the remaining lots were never transferred to anybody. My mom is the surviving daughter and all other heirs have died. There are only other nieces and nephews living. Can the family burial lot now be transferred to my mom, showing her as the owner now? How does she do this? Family members have been getting buried there since my grandmother/owner has died. Basically who ever dies and is a family member, whether through marriage or blood is there. There are three lots left and my mom is afraid she will miss out on being buried with her family. She wants to protect herself to be sure she has a place there. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Burial Lot
I recommend that you take any paperwork you can obtain from the funeral home regarding the burial lot (deed, contract, etc.) and schedule an appointment with an attorney.
The burial lots may have "passed" to surviving heirs by operation of law, or they may been gifted in a will or trust document, or there may be a contract with the funeral home that governs descent and distribution of burial lots.
Gather whatever paperwork you can from the funeral home and make an appointment with an attorney.
