If a child has a UGMA with a parent as Trustee and turns 18 in Massachusetts, should the funds go to the child for college tuition?

At age 18, a UGMA account belongs to the child and may be used as he wishes. Certainly paying tuition is a better use than some; however, depending on finances, you might want to meet with a student loan counselor about how that will impact other grants and loans.
