Re: Contesting a will

Most wills provide for contest provisions that in essence say, if you contest the will you do so at severe risk, such as if you lose, you forfeit any inheritance. To put it bluntly, yes a Will can put in a provision that says if you contest the Will you lose everything.

You cannot state in a Will for example my son Bob is prohibited from contesting my Will. You can say if any of my children contest this Will, they shall be disinherited under the will in essence.

You cannot preclude a specific person from contesting the will. You can, however, include a provision that whoever does contest the will forfeits any share that he or she would otherwise receive under the will.
