I strongly advise clients to NOT make multiple copies and hand them out. These are private documents which should be reviewed and revised (if necessary) every few years. Will contests and hard feelings often stem from children having copies of the will only to find out after Mom's death that she redid her plans.

Keep the original of your will either in a safe place where your executor can get to it or at your lawyer's office if your lawyer is willing to store it. Mark a copy of your will COPY and keep it with your other important papers.

Attorney Golden is correct. Most attorneys will hold the original copy of the Will for their clients. You should place the Will in a safe place. You should keep the Will together with a list of assets and accounts-- bank, brokerage- etc so your Executor can assemble your assets easily.
