A beneficiary has the right to review the terms of a trust, and generally has the right to an accounting. An attorney may be needed if the trustee is not being cooperative. In some instances, suit must be filed in order to demand an accounting, and to remedy any self-dealing or breach of fiduciary duty by the trustee. Our office would likely charge 1-2 hours to review the trust and make a request upon the trustee. Of course, if they ignore the request, or more convincing is required, more time will be required.
