Is a Durable Power of Attorney signed in Portland, Orgegon effective in Massachusetts?

Generally, yes. However, if you have permanently moved here, it would be a good idea to update your estate planning documents, as each state has its own approach to these things.

Generaly, it would be honored here as long as it was notarized and witnessed in compliance with MA law.

If you have other estate planning documents it might be a good idea to have them reviewed by a MA attorney such as myself.
