Executor Duties

can an executor of an estate make you pay for probate cost,such as funeral medical bills and any other outstanding debts,is it not the executors duties to pay all estate expenses?

If an executor has been appointed, he is supposed to pay all expenses of the estate from the estate assets. There may be instances where he may not be able to access certain funds for whatever reason, and so may request that you or someone else pay for certain expenses initially with the idea that you will be reimbursed after the funds are accessed.

If the estate does not have enough assets to pay its expenses, the estate is insolvent and there is a process for getting expenses paid in a certain order. If this is the case, you are not responsible to pay expenses that are not your own.
