Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

executor

It is said that an Executor cannot be on the receiving end of a will. My question is, can the executor's organization be on the receiving end of a will. That is: a priest named Executor and the parish or organization he is a part of inherit an estate from a Will and sign that Will as a witness?

Re: executor

There are no prohibitions on an executor being a beneficiary of a will. It is common to have a family member both inherit and administer the will. However, a witness will disinherit themself by being the witness. Avoid having the priest be a witness.
