Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

My father signed over the title to his auto to me in November 2009 however I have not yet applied for the new title. He passed away a couple of weeks ago. Can I still submit the title for transfer or does it now need to go through probate? We both reside in Massachusetts

I do not see why you cannot submit for a transfer.
