Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

I feel that the attorney who represented me in a child support/custody case promised more than she intended, expected or was able to deliver. I initially rerpesented myself and had gotten a pretty good deal with support payments and visitation. I hired an attorney because the case was ongoing and I waas advised by the judge not to continue representing myself. 18 months and $5,000 later I have the same arrangemnts I strted out with. Initially she told me she could get my support payments reduced and get me shared custody. A year later she was telling me I'll be lucky if my support payments don't get increased and I should be happy with the visitation hours I have.

I dismissed her services. But I feel justified in not making the final payment of $500 she is requesting from me. She billed me for every phone call, every piece of paper she reviewed and everything she filed. Most of which i don't even think was necessary or requested by me.

Your problem is not for what you were billed, but for what she promised, and those promises would have to be unequivocal.
