Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts
My Fiance and I are calling things off .
I helped purchase furniture flat screens ect. He signed a note promising if we are to part. I am to receive 1/2 all assets. I had the note notarized. What can I do legally ? I do not want his home just 1/2 of what i helped pay for .

You can file an action in Court. The amount will dictate which court?
I'm sorry to hear about your situation.
If you are looking to enforce an agreement between you and your fiance, you should have the agreement reviewed by an attorney. The agreement itself may tell you things like when you have the right to sue, what is included in 'assets', how your share is to be valued, and what remedies the parties have.
Presumably, to enforce the agreement, you will need to make a demand upon your fiance and then file suit in court if he or she will not comply. An attorney may be willing to take a case such as this on a contingent basis, meaning that you do not pay an attorney fee unless money is recovered for you.

You might want to retain an attorney to review your agreement and assist you in enforcing it.
Good Luck!
