grandparents house
my husbands mother is trying to sell her mothers house before she passes. when she passes the house if half his and half his mothers. is there anything we can do to stop this because my husband does not wont that house to go out of the family. that was his grandfathers wishes. my husbands mom moved away when he was 7 and just moved back and hes 28 now and shes took control of his grandmothers finances. he has never been out of the grandmothers life.The house is already paid off and his mother said he can pay full price for it. it just doesnt seem right because the house was going to him anyways. i thank you for any help.

The first question is who owns the home now? If it is in the name of his grandmother only, there is little he can do about it.
The only other question is the mother acting in the best interest of her mother's estate. If his grandmother needs income and needs to preserve assets, maybe you could rent the home from the grandmother's estate with an option to buy in a year or so.
His mother has an obligation to preserve her mother's assets and to use the income to support the grandmother's needs. If his mother is not acting in the best interest of the grandmother that is something entirely different.
