Re: grandparents house

The first question is who owns the home now? If it is in the name of his grandmother only, there is little he can do about it.

The only other question is the mother acting in the best interest of her mother's estate. If his grandmother needs income and needs to preserve assets, maybe you could rent the home from the grandmother's estate with an option to buy in a year or so.

His mother has an obligation to preserve her mother's assets and to use the income to support the grandmother's needs. If his mother is not acting in the best interest of the grandmother that is something entirely different.

Good Luck.
