Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

My husband is 59 yrs. old, retired and is about to go into a rehab/nursing home and will most likely not be coming home ever. He has severe liver disease and total confusion. My question is after the allotted time the insurance allows in the rehab will the state come after my house and savings? Also my husband has an annuity fund, will they take that also from me?

The answers really depend on how you own your assets. There are a number of ways in which assets can be protected so that the financial impact on you will be relatively minor. Please feel free to contact me at 781-433-8665 if you would like to discuss this in more detail.

I'm very sorry about your situation. I fully agree with the previous answers. The state will not "come after" you but you need to see an attorney who can assist you in making decisions that will protect your assets as much as possible. You need to do this as soon as possible.
