Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts
Inventory of the will
The estate is divided equally between My brother & me.The administrator is my brother. The Atty for my brother refuses to explain to me,all the money deductions($14,000) This money is given to my brother.I need to know why my brother is getting this $. I refuse to sign this inventory until the Atty explains,..which he refuses to do.How long can this continue..years? I hired an Atty, but our Atty can not get an explanation.I paid this Atty $$.I live in another State, maybe this is the problem? IF I refuse to sign, what will happen? DO I NEED TO HIRE ANOTHER ATTY & PAY HIM,TOO? It is very difficult being out- of- state & trying to obtain an Atty. What are my rights as a heir of the estate? Thank you for your reply!

Re: Inventory of the will
What will happen eventually will be that the inventory and expenses being paid will be submitted to the court and there will be a hearing.
there is no rocket science to all this and the attorney for your brother or your brother should explain what the payment of $14,000 is for. I would assume it is for funeral expenses and other expenses paid by your brother that legally he is entitled to be reimbursed. I do not understand the refusal to disclose what the $14,000 represents.
Your attorney can file a Motion to Remove your brother as executor for failing to make a proper accounting or a Motion for a more detailed accounting.
Good luck
