Technically, all creditors have a year to file claims against the estate. So assuming no disputed claims or pending lawsuits, technically it should take 12-18 months depending on various issues. Fastest would be 12 months plus a couple of weeks. However, that does not mean the Executor cannot make distributions to the heirs so long as he or she is confident that they will retain enough funds to pay any expenses anticipated during administration of the Estate.

An Estate which is a small estate can be done somewhat quicker and easier.
