Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

I'm a newly appointed Executor on a recently deceased man's will here in Massachusetts. Just wondering what my fee would be. His estate is about $300,000 in CD's only. Just give me a ballpark figure. Thankyou

There is no set fee. An executor or personal representative is entitled to the reasonable compensation for his services unless a specific formula is indicated by the Will. There is no set formula. You are also entitled to reimbursement of your reasonable expenses, costs, and legal fees.

Depending on what you are required to do the fee could be anywhere from a couple of thousand dollars to substantially more. Does the Will allow for the payment of an executor or prohibit it. If it is silent, then you would be entitled to a fee.
