How can someone obtain a copy of a will originally drawn up by an attorney who is now deceased?

That depends..... if the person who made the will is also deceased, then the will should have been filed at the appropriate probate court; in which case, you can go to the courthouse and make a copy.

If the person who made the will is alive, only that person (or the person's guardian or attorney in fact) has a right to documents in his or her own file. The person can contact the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers and find out the name of the lawyer who is now in possession of the deceased lawyer's files, and then contact that attorney.
