Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

How to prepare for probate

My Father married a woman who was after his money only even though our whole family tried to warn him. He has been married 5 years and has been unhappy and brainwashed out of fear into buying a new house and putting it in his wife's name exclusively. What recourse does our family have to ensure this woman does not get everything upon my father's passing?

Re: How to prepare for probate

I can imagine your father is unhappy, caught between his wife who wants his money and his children who want his money.

Your father makes the decision, unless he is mentally incompetent. If you visit him often and care about his life and concerns, and help him when he needs it or asks for it, involve him in your lives as much as possible, he will probably do the right thing. It will probably help if you at least don't badmouth his wife all the time, if you do. Try to get along with her, for his sake. This is not a legal issue, based on what you have asserted.
